Changes and Cancellations

24 Hour Policy

Reservations made via www.penair.com, our reservation call center, or our airport locations require immediate purchase. Reservations may be changed once, or canceled and refunded, within 24 hours of original purchase without penalty.

Customers should call our Reservations department to change or cancel a reservation. Reservations made online may be canceled on www.penair.com or through our Reservations department. Changes and cancellations must be made within 24 hours of booking; otherwise a penalty may apply. If canceled within 24 hours, a refund will be processed to the original form of payment, only.

Change Fees:

Effective April 15th, 2019, the follow fees will apply:

  • Change Fee – Zone 1*: $75
  • Change Fee – Zone 2*: $100.00

Change fees are in conjunction with any difference in fare costs.

*Zone 1 travel: Homer, Kenai, Kodiak, McGrath, Valdez, and Fairbanks

**Zone 2 travel: Aniak, Bethel, Cold Bay, Dillingham, Deadhorse, King Salmon, Kotzebue, Sand Point, St. Mary’s, and St. Paul

Same Day Flight Change Program

With our Same Day Flight Change Program, you can get a confirmed seat for an earlier, same-day flight for just $35.00. This program is subject to seat availability.

You may request a Same Day Confirmed Flight Change with a ticket agent at the ticket counter. You must be there to check in, one hour prior to the flight’s scheduled departure or up to 6 hours before the desired flight leaves. For example, if you are scheduled to leave on the 10 p.m. flight, and you would like to leave on the 2 p.m. flight, you may request your change as early as 8 a.m.

In the event you have missed your originally scheduled flight a full ticket reissue (fare difference plus fees) applies.

Eligibility

To qualify for the $35 Same Day Confirmed Flight Change Program:

  • You must be holding confirmed reservations and tickets for flights operated by Ravn Alaska or PenAir. This includes tickets booked with FlyAway Rewards points.
  • You must keep the routing identical – meaning the same origin, destination and any possible connecting cities.
  • Your new desired flight must depart on the same calendar day, and prior to your originally scheduled flight.

Exemptions:

If your ticket is booked with the following exemptions, you qualify for the Same Day Confirmed Flight Change program free of charge:

  • FlyAway Rewards Gold Tier Members
  • Your ticket was purchased as a fully-refundable ticket

If you wish to make changes outside the above listed eligibility, normal change fees and restrictions apply.  These changes must be made through a reservation agent by calling 1-800-866-8394.

No Shows

Effective April 15th, 2019, the follow fees will apply:

  • No show – Zone 1*: $100.00
  • No Show – Zone 2*: $200.00

No-Show fees are applicable when notification is not given to Ravn Alaska Reservations or Ticket Counter Agents at least 4-hours prior to departure. No-show fees are applicable towards each ticket on the reservation.

If you provide payment with a credit card at the time of booking and need to make a change in your reservations, we will be happy to waive our service fee for changing reservations within 24 hours of making the reservation as long as the fare class is still available and you still meet any advance purchase requirements. If your purchased ticket is non-refundable, we can provide a full refund without fee if requested within 24 hours of purchase and if the reservation is made one week or more prior to the scheduled flight.

PenAir always recommends reconfirming your reservations and flight times 24 hours before travel. You may do this by calling Reservations at 800-448-4226.

Name Change

Effective April 15, 2019, name changes may be made for $25.00. Name change fees are in conjunction with any fare difference that may apply. Name changes are allowed on fully unused or partially used tickets.

Refunds

PenAir sells both refundable and non-refundable tickets. Tickets needing to be refunded should be returned to the original location of purchase, such as any PenAir ticket office, or if purchased from a travel agent, the agency office. PenAir will refund eligible tickets purchased directly from PenAir within 7 business days for credit card purchases and within 20 business days for cash purchases from receipt of the refund request. Refunds may be subject to a change fee. Ticket refund applications are available at all PenAir ticket offices. Refunds will be credited to the original purchaser and made in the original form of payment. There is a $10.00 refund admin fee per segment refunded.

A non-refundable ticket is not eligible for a refund, however, the value of a completely unused ticket may be applied to future travel on PenAir up to one year from the original purchase date. Changes made for future travel with a non-refundable ticket may be subject to a change fee. For a partially used ticket, the ticket’s value toward future travel is reduced by the value of the flown portion of your trip, and may still be subject to a change fee.

Following PenAir’s Chapter 11 Reorganization filing in August 2017, all refunds for tickets purchased prior to August 6, 2017 must be approved by the Alaska State Courts. At this time, we don’t have a date of when we will be given approval from the Courts to begin processing refunds.
