Cargo: General Freight Information

- Priority rate is based on 160% of the General freight rate.
- Live Animal shipments are based on 300% of General freight rate. Rates are based on actual weight; do not dimensionalize. Arrangements must be made at least 24 hours in advance. There is a limit of two animals per airplane. For the main-line stations (AKN, DLG, DUT & CDB) to bush locations, the rate is 150% of General.
- For Hazardous materials there is a fee of $25.00. Up to 10 DGDs are allowed per AWB.
- There is no longer a C.O.D. service for freight shipments. Do not mistake this for freight collect.
- Human remains are 200% of the General freight rate. Arrangements must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Bulk rate for shipments going downline from our mainline stations is 150% of general rate. Bulk rate is used on all freight that must ride on Navajo or Caravan. All ATV's, Snow machines, Motorcycles crated and uncrated and Household goods are bulk rated.
Exception: Dillingham rate for ATV's, snow machines and motorcycles going to villages, is a fixed rate of $375.00 per item.
- Flat rate for antlers from villages to Anchorage $50.00 plus tax. Must be prepaid. For further downline information check tariff rules or call Anchorage office.
- Dimensions: The maximum dimension accepted for freight is 48" in any direction and maximum weight is 500 pounds. Talk to the station agent for exceptions to this rule.
Exception: From Cold Bay to King Cove, False Pass and Nelson Lagoon the allowed maximum dimensions are 57"W x 26"H x 42"L.
