Reports To:                          Director, Internal Evaluation

Basic Function: Reporting to the Director of Internal Evaluation this position is responsible for the development, accomplishment, and reporting of internal evaluations relevant to the aircraft maintenance department. The Maintenance Internal Evaluator will develop, and conduct audits that assure compliance of standards outlined in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). He/she will assist as required in the development of new risk based tools and techniques to strengthen the aircraft maintenance department.  The Maintenance Internal Evaluator will evaluate and report the airline’s maintenance department performance in regards to safety and compliance standards to the Director of Internal Evaluation.  

  • Qualifications: 
    • Federal Aviation Administration issued Airframe and Powerplant License.
    • Inspectors Authorization, or ten years of relevant industry experience.
    • Internal Evaluation Program, Quality Assurance or Airline Maintenance experience.
    • Proven ability to quickly understand complex aircraft maintenance and safety processes
    • Ability to effectively provide assessments
    • The willingness to be a part of a high energy, success-oriented team
    • Auditor training preferred
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Major Responsibilities

  • Continually monitor the GMM for validity
  • Conduct audits of policies and procedures for compliance and effectively
  • Conduct task evaluations of Maintenance and Inspection Personnel
  • Observe and report safety and security issues
  • Audit aircrafts records for continuity and completeness
  • Recommend GMM and/or procedural changes
  • Provide findings to the Director of Maintenance with correction action suspense requirements  
  • Provide a monthly summery of audits, results, and open issues to the CAS Manager
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate participatory and team-oriented leadership style, while still effecting change.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Support the implementation of the Company Safety Management System. (SMS)
